Thanks Adbee Markaz Kamraz!

In two day Editor Meet at Srinagar I&B Minister Ms Ambika Soni was
amongst all other issues reminded of one issue concerning Kashmiri
Pandit Migrants. The Adbee Markaz Kamraz President, Aziz Hajini,
Seretary Syed Sujaat Bukhari, prominent writer Bashir Bashir had
raised the issue of Kashmiri Pandits having no platform left to
participate in Radio and TV Programmes of Jammu Region. The Hon’ble
Minister had taken a note of their contention that the region
comprised of 45% Kashmiri speaking people, who could not find much
space in the programming chunk of the said stations. We well-come the
sentiment of the said delegation and appreciate their concern about
Kashmiri Pandits. At the same one wonders if the same words are not
true about the programming chunk of the entire Kashir Channel. Kashir
channel is a flagship channel of the Entire State and its programming
has been kept limited to Kashmir Valley only.

Those Kashmiris who have been forced to live outside their homes find
least presence in the 24 hour programming schedule of this Channel.
Their children also want to participate in the children programmes,
and youth and women want to exhibit their histrionics in the field of
expression of different arts. They have got potential prgramme
producing talent which is vanishing in exile and does not find space
in the scheme of working of the Channel. The local Channel Managers
have deliberately dodged, let down and shown discrimination and
disdain against these talented people. There are ample proofs to prove
this. The space of Kashmiri Pandits in to the daily scheduling of the
24 hour run channel in terms of the broadcast hours is almost nil.

This main issue should not be missed or ignored while addressing the
above raised issue.
